Joanna Adams
Just a girl and a keyboard, singing songs about forest animals, court jesters, lessons about love...
Joanna's experiences in music have been eclectic but always driven by a love of storytelling and a passion for how music builds community. She grew up on a diet of classical music and musical theatre, falling in love with Gilbert and Sullivan operettas when she was very young. Throughout highschool she started being involved in local amateur musical societies and volunteering as an entertainer at her grandmother's aged care facility. After studying a Bachelor of Music at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, she went on to study a Master of Music at Excelsia College and it was here that she started to write her own songs. In her songwriting Joanna uses her classical vocal background and fuses it with indie pop and folk. Meg Washington and Kate Bush are artists who particularly inspire her. She continues to sing in aged care and is also very involved in music at her church.
